Agreed, but they don't make the engine bar to work with forward controls.

Just put on the chrome nostalgic bar a day or so ago. Really looks good on the deluxe.

I use a mustache guard on my Slim.
I like the lower profile look.
As far as protection, I don't think one offers more protection over the other.
If it's a "soft" drop, where the bike just falls over chances are it'll just land on the guard and stop, but if it's a total rollover I don't think it will matter much which guard you use.
I found that with the mustache guard I found that the "notch" at the top makes a nice place to hang a tool bag...

I have had the moustache baron my Night Train and Heritage. Love the look, never tested the durability.

I went with the Linby Bars. I like the way they look and the Position that they let me ride at. I adjusted my shift lever so that I can shift with my heel from the bar as well.

Mustache Bar on my Lo, to me its a better profile and you can stretch out on the hwy. Its personal preference, protection is the same for both styles.

Got a nostalgic one on my Heritage, but wouldn't mind getting a mustache for the foot/leg rest.

I don't get much use out of the foot rests on my mustache guard, as they seem to be too far inward and a little too high.
Not comfortable at all - but that's just me.
OTOH I suppose it's better than nothing...
