Default hardbags on a Duece

I just got a 2004 Duece in may. I really love the way the tank and forks look. But when it comes to the back half. Not so crazy about. Did not realize that you cant add hardbags or even change the sissy bar. I bought this bike to take out of town. And that little sissy bar dont work for the wife. I want to have a detachable sissy bar. Does anyone know what struts I should put on. Or what is available to do to fit this problem.

yeah, the Duece is the odd child in the family. You'll find that a lot of parts say "except FXSTD". With that said, you can get parts to work with a little bit of extra work. I used the Easy Brackets to put on bags. http://www.easybrackets.com/products...n.htm#Softails

As far as the backrest, I have seen some who have been able to retrofit a different style backrest. You can also get a larger Deuce pad.

IIRC, HD did make hard bags for the Deuce. I just use a t-bag though.

The struts are completely different and don't have the posts that the other softails do, so the HD ones won't work. I've often thought about extending the one I have, but I don't use it very often and ride solo most days because the girlfriend is so busy. I told her when she gets done with school and can ride more often, she can buy me a Street Glide or Deluxe.

I know the easy brackets are probably the best way for the duece. But do they vibrate on the bottom due to the fact that there is no support on the bottom. Ive called easy bracket and they said there is no support cause it comes off easy. Do you have a set and do you love the bracket.

They did make hard bags for the Deuce. They are small and don't really fit the image of a Bagger as most think of. They kind of fit the style of the Deuce though.

Thanks Cocky, Not sure which one you mean but if you're referring to mine I appreciate the compliment.

(personally, I think Silver-Deuces' bike is much nicer)

04Deuce: I have the EZ Brackets and have absolutely no problem with the bags hitting/rubbing anything.
The part that you bolt the bags to has a large metal back plate that supports the bags and keeps them
from 'flopping' in the wind. As you can see from my picture I stuff the bags pretty full and they're still
holding their shape after 6 years.
