As a previous SS owner, I agree. If it had dampning, it would be everything some think it is. At stock height, 422's are just as good, and at 1/4 the cost they dont brake or malfunction. If dropping the bike and posing is your thing, 422's can not get you their. To many, that is worth the money I guess.

Congrats to the OP, he is happy and thats why we spend $$ on these bikes.

Obviously from my signature description I've got the Progessive 422 RAPs.
I've very pleased with them and at $500 compared to Shotgun Shocks they are a bargain, but still too damn expensive.

Kuma, is one if not the only one that I'm aware of that has had the Shotgun Shocks and the 422s, and if one is staying at stock height he leans toward the 422s.
You have to put some stock in Kuma's opinion.

As for me, I was only looking for a more enhanced ride that I could adjust easily between 1 and 2 up.
The 422 RAPs fill that order.

That being said, the Shotgun Shocks do still peak my interest and perhaps someday I'll get a set and be able to render my opinion on not if they produce a better ride but rather if they produce a $700+ better ride than the 422 RAPs.

Getting back to the thread subject; I think those who have the Shotgun Shock are very pleased with the product and nobody can doubt JD's service.
So it appears Shotgun Shocks are the way to go if you want an enhanced ride that you can adjust on the fly and be able to slam the bike at will.

Nothing else out there that I'm aware of can do that at any price.

As to the cost of Shotgun Shocks, as my Father always said about money; "if you don't spend it on one thing, you'll spend on another".

I had 422s for a season before I took them off and went to SS. IMHO they are not comparable. Night and day difference, even at stock height. Kuma and I may have had both sets of shocks set up differently, and a little dampening to the SS would make it even better, but from my experience you can't compare the ride of the two, even at stock height.

You can choose to put stock in my opinion too or not.

Well there you have it, two differing opinions on the same subject so we are back to "do what you feel is best".

I'll have to lean toward UT-rckr's opinion though seeing he's from a Red State and Kuma is from a Blue State.

Sorry Kuma, I just think Obama sucks and as for Jerry Brown well... I hear he has worn out knees.

If you guys want to dampen your shocks get out the water hose. If you want to control the compression or rebound then you need damping.

Just having a little fun
