Default sealing a leaky 60 spoke wheel on rocker?

Hey guys,

I'm running an 18x8.5 60 spoke on the back of my rocker. The wheel was supposed to be tubeless but when I got the tyre put on it leaked like a sieve.
I'm running a tube as a short term fix but does anyone have any recommendations for sealing it up to run tubeless?

Thanks,

MAtt.

Don't think I can help you on that one, but I've never heard of a tubeless spoked wheel. Just say'in..

You're not going to get a tubeless spoked wheel with out making it a hack job, thats the nature of spoke wheels. There is a little gap around the nipple and where the spoke and nipple thread that air can get through.

But I have seen a guy use a rim strip and lots of silicon to seal up a spoked wheel for tubeless application, but the problem with that is you're adding weight and later balancing.

Wynchester,

Tubeless spoke rims came onto the market a few years ago. I've never trusted them! There is a product called "Ride-on" which not only balances the tire but also seals punctures. Great stuff but I don't know if it will seal leaks around metal openings. It might be worth a try.

Was the tire mounted at a real harley dealer? reason: it is my understanding that a special sleeve is replaced during tire change.

Hey Thanks I'll look into this.

Not at dealership. The dealerships here don't seem interested in helping you out with aftermarket stuff. The bike shop that fitted the tyre said about ten of the 60 spokes were leaking (it's meant to be tubeless).

So, I'll probably go down the silicone based sealer road. I found these online...

Second option seems a bit more thorough. I might try it.

This is one reason I don't sell "sealed" spoke wheels. They eventually start to leak.

If the wheel/rim is still under warranty,, then its a no brainer... have the manufacture to make good on it...!!!!

be careful what you read in here.. too many don't really know what they are saying when giving an answer to questions....

<<<@!1!@>>>

Plenty of videos on youtube on how ride-on works...it would never seal a spoke leak.

Still difficult to understand your explanation.
Reason: the factory tubeless spoke rim requires a sleeve..is this a factory rim and if it was a factory tubeless rim then the sleeve should have been changed.
Aftermarket rim is another story.
Ride-on will not function in this application since the forces during rotation make the product stick to area closest to road contact (product moves outward) and not the rim
