Default Chirping Noise

This was posted else where on the Forum but maybe the Softail area will get new postings. When ever my wife rides with me on my 98 Fat Boy I get a chirping noise that starts when I shift into 4th and 5th gears and then continues. I know this sounds funny so please no jokes. The noise is not cyclic but is a loud irregular chirp or maybe a chatter, my wife says a chirping is what it sounds like to her. I really don't hear it when I am solo, though I do occasionally hear a light chirp when I shift into 4th but not after that. Obviously the additional 102 lbs is making some kind of difference. The only thing that I can add about the bike is that is lowered a bout 1.5 to 2 inches. This has been going on for some years now but she don't ride with me all that much so I have been ignoring it. We rode together yesterday and it was very loud. The noise is really annoying the crap out of me so any help would be appreciated. The tire and belt doesn't appear to be rubbing any where and the belt is tensioned to my weight,
