Default Cutting Handlebars

Carlini bars are in and so is Exile internal throttle. Read quite a few posts on this install but no description of types of tools for cutting handle bar off 4" for the Exile install. Any recommendations on tool for cutting? Also, I see Dremel work for opening up the ID, but recommendations on the stone or bit?

Getting ready for the winter project. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a old chop box for cutting wood, someone gave it to me, that I fitted a metal cutting blade to. Not a great fit but the tool is old and crappy so it is OK. I have cut at least two sets of handle bars and one set of exhaust pipes, works good and gives you a straight cut.

I used a medium sized tubing cutter, same as used for plumbing pipe. Takes a few minutes to score through, but leaves a nice clean, perfectly square cut.

I used a dremel as well, don't remember what bit I used though. Probably just used up every bit I had in the box until I found one that worked pretty good. I also used the engraving extension wand thingy to easily reach far enough into the tube. Takes awhile, bring a couple beers out to the garage.......

Also wrap the bar where you are cutting with painters tape or something to prevent scoring.

Agreed ... tubing cutter. That's what I used on my sportster bars.

Tubing cutter would have been nice. I just wrapped the bars with blue tape where I wanted my cut and then just followed the line with the saber saw. The internal throttle and clutch will slip into the 1" tube about 2 inches so it will align itself straight. If your cut is off you will see it and be able to clean it up with the grinder.

Or take it to any machine or welding shop and they can cut it with one in a minute...

Doesn't really take that long with the tubing cutter. A couple minutes max. Plus the cut is dead square and clean.
