Tomorrow we are going to look at painting the front forks since they are all pitted. Thinking of trying to restore the chrome or just paint it silver. Maybe black.... Also we are going to remove the back wheel and try to clean it up and make it look new. Then we are going to start putting pieces together, fenders, etc.

Why? Japanese motorcycle are some of the most reliable and well built machines on the planet. Not everyone on this forum is brainwashed. Many of us appreciate all the different kinds of motorcycles and motorcycle brands. There is big difference between buying someone's unfinished project and someone's unfinished problem. I hope in this case you got a good deal and not a pile of American junk. Congrats and welcome to the STF

I didn't help much today, I was busy at a fund raiser and teaching my lil sis how to drive lol... But here's some pics of what my dad did.
