Redline Tranny Fluid, you use it?
#3
I've been using it for 14K now and I felt that it made the trans a little quieter and smoother gear changing, which changing to Mobil-1 10w30 syn in the primary also helped.
The first time I used it I could smell it when near the bike, but it goes away after about a week.

Another option is the Amsoil line. As an extremist, I've been using their Severe Gear 140 and it works great. Wouldn't suggest it if you ride in very cold conditions, but for "normal" temps, in my opinion, it really smooths out the tranny.
And Ron - That is a great looking bike!

Everyone has their favorites. I used Bel-ray big twin tranny fluid in my old bike it is a top quality tranny fluid. I bought the bike used, first tranny fluid change I did the magnet was full of fuzz. Then I put in Bel-ray tranny fluid in every change since the magnet was clean!!!!! Bel -ray is a 85-140 wt fluid.
On my new heritage I went with spectro syn 6 speed tranny fluid, its a 75-140 wt fluid. I wanted to try it. And in about 2 weeks I will flush out the fluid and look at the magnet.
You have to read up on the products and try a few to find what works best for you and how and in what temps you ride in.... That sales man is just that ....A Salesman!!!!!!\
Red line makes a fine products... Nothing wrong with going with it... I just didn't like the part where you said the salesman is pushing it!!!!! Good luck to you and your new bike ... swifty

I've seen that bike. It's kinda cool and no washing required..
I've been using the Redline for about 15K miles now. In my mind anyway, the jury is still out on it. It seems to make it shift a little smoother, but I swear there are more shavings on the drain plug. Could be my imagination though. I've also picked up some drive train slack since I started using it. Don't know if it related..
