Default 92 softail springer seat question

Im wanting to know how new I can go on seat interchangeability? Im sure they are really close, I also know that the newer ones have a bracket on the solo seats that bolt to the fender and I can always drill new holes and buy the correct fasteners to install. Im also curious if the brackets on the side of the seat will match up as well, if they do I wont have to drill new holes in the fender.
Thanks in advance

typically seats 84-99 Softail would be direct bolt on.

00-up typically would not work. The tab is set up differently.

But everything else lines up otherwise...

Well as long as it bolts to the sides and in the back, it should be fine for me. I can always modify it

Thanks
