I second speed dealer customs. I love my two caps. Only bad thing I have found is that the Oil cap is extremely tight on my 2001 fatboy. I cant take it off by hand. I have to use a towel and channel locks.

Default Willie G Cap...

I went with this Chrome Willie G cap. I know everyone has one and its old news, but it fits/works/is chrome/looks good....what else could you want out of a gas cap?

Ride on...

I have a cap from Speed dealer customs as well. I use a HD LED gauge, the smooth chrome.

What else could I want from a gas cap? Exactly what you yourself pointed out...

Something that not everyone has and is not old news...and not shaped like a skull! ;-P

Thanks for sharing though. Every bit of input helps.

Yeah.

Just not down with the swear words though.

That stinks about the tight fit. Although, the H-D oil cap with temp gauge leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to fit. It's on the opposite end of the spectrum and requires a little push every now and then to make sure it's seated properly.

Would you be able to post a picture of your entire tank so we can see what your combination of gas cap and gauge looks like?

So far lots of votes for Speed Dealer customs. They have a few that I like but they are the more plain styles. I figure for the price and the look I'd be getting I might as well just try to put a nice paint finish on my stock ones.

Anyone seen anything that looks like an old style flip top?

Even though it just came off and went into storage, I've already been thinking of a paint scheme to throw on my stock gas tank for the next time I get an inkling to do a change up on my Bones. I think that in order to get around some of the decision making for this detail, I may just plug up the fuel gauge hole and paint it over like the Breakout.
