Default Detachable Saddlebags on Heritage?

Is anyone running the detachable saddlebag kits on their Heritage Classics? I'd like to strip it down from time to time, but I really don't feel like having to take off the entire assembly.

Thoughts?

Of course there are members with the detachable kits for their saddlebags and backrests (sissy bars).

The bottom line is this. You have two choices:
1. Unscrew 6 nuts to remove your saddlebags
2. Get a detachable kit

There are aftermarket kits other than HD. It has been the topic of many threads here. You may find information in these links:

I'm all for convenience but is it really worth $150 to save the 10 minutes it takes to remove 6 bolts?

Does the quick disconnect kit provide anything else besides being able to quickly remove the bags such as a cleaner look?

I only take my bags off while cleaning so perhaps that's why I don't understand the expense.

There is no complete Assembley to remove ???...

There is only 6 nuts to remove which take less than 5 mins and your done to remove the bags.VS 2-3 mins if you spend $$$ for the quick removal kit..

I remove my bags twice a yr just to clean my rear-end..

I do have a quick release tour pak mount that I got so I could take my tour pak off during cleaning.

The tour pak is only held on with 4 bolts and takes about 5 minutes to take off so perhaps the quick release bag thing is the same.

I guess we all spend money on things that other's would not.

i exactly understand desire for quick release anything..
these 6 nuts-- weekly visits to the car wash makes me wish big time that i had the quick release for the side bags..
i would take em off before washing.. remount, go to drying bay, take off.. do my business, remount..
amortized, the cost doesnt seem so bad..

i do have the docking hardware for quickmount sissybar, and tourpak..
would i still have to buy hardware for quickmount bags setup?
then i would sell the dock that i have now?

The HD quick release bags come with new mounting bars for the back of the bags and some new quick release pegs for the two upper mounts and one that mounts to the passenger peg mount too. All the other quick release stuff still works with it. The mounts just get a bit wider with the addition.

My wife has the cycle visions bare backs:

There are chrome magnetic covers that cover the bolts on the fender strut.
