Radiantz Lighted Frame & Softbrake Relocation Write-Up
I figured since many people with a Deluxe or other bike switch over to the Softbrake tombstone and license relocate, I would do a write-up on how I went about installing this setup with a Radiantz lighted license plate frame. Many people have struggled with installing the frame because of how the wires come out of the back side of the frame for the LED lights. Below is how I tackled it...
Flip the bracket and plate upside down. Note the position of the wires. Mark your plate accordingly.
Drill a hole, then notch the plate using a tin snips or even a wire cutter/side cutter/dikes
Test fit the plate in the Radiantz frame, trim as necessary.
Center the plate on the Softbrake bracket, mark and drill a hole.
Check the clearance of the wires..
Many people may do this differently. I decided to drill a hole behind the frame and use a plastic hole plug (same as what they use behind the turn signal bar) in order to run my wires through the fender. I thought this was a much cleaner look.
Tighten everything down and admire. (It is much easier to do all of this work with the fender off and upside down on your kitchen table - but definitely not necessary).
A view from the rear...
And now.. Fireworks! I also installed the Run/Turn/Brake conversion kit at the same time using red lenses with trim ring visors. Sure lights up the rear now!
Hope that this helps anyone who decides they want to do this mod. Fairly simple, but definitely better than stock.
