Default hard bags for 14 Heritage

I am looking to purchase a new 14 Heritage Classice. The color is Mysterious Red Sunglow.

HD wants $1300 for the bags alone (color matched). Do you guys have any other leads for hard bags that could be color matched that are not as expensive?

Would the ABS plastic be a good choice, or should I stick with fiberglass?

Thanks

I guess what angle are you at? Do you want color matched bags or just bags that are hard so they dont sag.

No more saggy bags has a kit.

From what I've read if you can find color matching hard bags you are looking at about $1000 for everything including the mounts.

Since your color is not typical chances are you are going to have to have any hard bags painted to match which will add to the cost.

If Harley wants $1300 just for the bags, I'd pass and go it on your own.
If Harley wants $1300 installed, then perhaps that's not a bad deal.

Of course if you go it on your own you could perhaps get a few hundred for the stock bags, but that profit could easily be eaten up by the paint.

There are a few threads on this subject.
Search the forum for "softail bagger".

Your current bags are worth 800.00 new. I don't like my soft bags because of all that bling. I'm looking at finding just smooth deluxe style. You have a cool colour that needs that black offset. All red is too much.

Perhaps HD prices the bags at $800, but good luck finding someone to give $800 for Heritage bags.

The price I typically see is $250-350 and that's if they are like new take-offs.
There's a new set on e-bay now for buy-it-now for $450 and I seriously doubt they will sell.

Look at leatherspro. They have bags without bling at all. I just want hard bags on my bike.
