Default Fatboys - Crashbars/Engine Guards

I have the crash bars or engine guard narrowed down to 2 styles (standard and nostalgic) but I need a little help telling the difference between these 2 guards.

The pics on the website look almost identical and there is no front view of the regular bar... so it's difficult to compare size etc...

I would like to see some pics of both on your scoots if ya gottem.

I really do not like the mustache guard on the Fatboy Lo so please do not suggest it. lol

I didn't like the moustache guard either....sold it and bought one from this guy for half what dealer charges. Btw, I bought a black one which you might like better than chrome.

The nostalgic are more rounded, that the standard, go on ebay and look.
I have the standard and like the look better.

For me the standard bar looked the best on my Lo. I added some foot pegs to it and now have more options for stretching out while riding.

Default Nostalgic engine guard and Captain Itch cover

I ordered a Chrome Nostalgic engine guard from Kutter online.
the lowest price I've found with free shipping.
I ordered the 36" leather covers from Captain Itch. Really fast service and a quality piece.
I will be installing them on my blacked out Fatboy Lo
My bike comes out of the dealers winter storage in two weeks and I'll be putting the rig on the bike.

I am going with the standard Engine guard in black. Mustache bars are out of the question, Im don't like the way they look on the Lo and I cannot reach them anyways!

I won't be able to reach the standard bars either!

I prefer the squared look of the standard bars as compared with the rounded look of the Nostalgic bars.

I, like you, have been contemplating this for a long time. I did a google image search to see what look I preferred and have spent many hours here looking at pictures of Fat Boy Lo with engine guards.

Those Captain Itch covers look interesting.

That there folks is a thing of absolute beauty! I just bought a set of Nostalgic Bars and I'm waiting for them to be powdercoated black. They are a beautiful addition to your scoot man.... looks awesome!

Just curious... what did it cost ya to wrap them in leather? Powdercoated was about $65 here.

I went with the mustache on mine. Out of them all, I liked it best. It's personal preference. I think the bike looks better without the guard, but it would look worse if I dropped it unprotected.

Function over looks, right...
