Hi,guys

i recently purchased a 2014 heritage softail classic. I am having problems removing the gas tank. I have removed the acorn knot on the center console, removed the front bolt that holds the tank to the frame, and the back bolt by the seat. I can't seem to be able to remove it. The center console also does not move.

Anyone know how i can fix this? It seems there are more bolts that need to be removed so I can move the center console than just the acorn. I need to access the turn signal wires under the gas tank to install LED mirrors. I am almost there.someone pls help.

Welcome to the forum.

The first item you need is a 2014 Softail Service Manual. You must get it through a dealer. It is a mandatory part of your toolbox as you are finding out.

so you can't get the console off? the acorn nut is the only thing holding that on.

 

yes,consol won't budge with the nut removed. i even tried prying off with a flat head.
