Default tbone the new guy with fatboys questions

Hey everyone,
thanks for having me, trying to figure the site out we'll see how I do.
I have an "07" fatboy, just had cams put in and thunderheader exhaust. Had to get that stock exhaust out of my way. I want to put some real bags on it not those baby ones they offer for the stock model. Any ideas?
I wanted to raise my bars or put new bars on to get my hands about shoulder height. My buddy has an older fatboy he said he put a set of ultra classic bars on without having to change all his cables just a little bend mod on his brake line.
Trying to find some cost savings with this the cams and exhaust set me back a bit ! Lol

I have some non-HD saddle bags on my bike. Bought them from a leather shop online about 10 years ago.

Have an 03 Fatty here and as far as the handlebars, I had, early on put some heritage bars with 4" risers on mine and that got my hands higher. Ultimately I went with 14 1/2" CycleSmiths 1 1/4" apes with the stock risers and that puts my hands right at shoulder height. I'm 6'1" tall. Hope that helps a bit.

Welcome, I don't think you can go anywhere else to get better advice than this site. I have 14", 1.5" carlinis with a 1" riser and its at my shoulders. Im 5'10" sober, 6'2" when Patron is around! My advice? Never say or do "costs savings" when you do anything on your bike. Most here will tell you it will come back to bite you in the A$$ every time!

I also have Boss bags good product and they offer several different sizes...easy to take on and off when you dont want them on...Had them for 9 Years and still look good...The nice thing is when your on a trip they are easily removed and carried into you room so the contents are safe..

I'm open to either hard or leather I just hated those smallish bags they have for the fatboy when you have the stock exhaust, and didn't want to spend $800.00 on a set of bags. The other thing was fitment, I was told the police bags worked off an electraglide. So looking for options.
