Really appreciate you taking the time to get photos and photos all with details. This is something I've been wanting to do and now I've got no reason not too.

MR.Brass i just wanted to send you this quick note to say THANK YOU.

Got stuck half way through the install and your instructions explained everything PERFECT!!!

Great work.

Progressive should be embarrassed with their instructions.

Thanks again.

PS. The only issue with the mod was that I followed the progressive instructions on how much to cut the spacer in order to get a 2" drop and I only got 1.5" drop. Over the winter I might do it all over again.

AWESOME. Thanks for all the thanks guys! I was hoping it would inspire someone or better even HELP someone.

Whats the point of learning how to do something yourself if you cant help someone else learn?!

Great write up! How is your ride now?

I did this on my 07 Street Bob and and the front shocks were stiffer than HELL. I hit a few bumps and the bike went into a Death Wobble. After a few days of standing back and contemplating with a few beers, I came to the conclusion that the volume of fork oil was now too much due to the reduced space in the fork tube. (height difference and extra space taken up by thickness of spacer)

Progressive was no help and like noted by others, instructions are vague.

I decided to go back in and recalculated the difference in recommended amount of fork oil as per HD manual. After removing the determined amount of oil, the ride was incredible. I also added RICOR Intiminators to dial it in even more.

Please give me your thoughts on this with a Softail. The only difference I can tell is the forks are mounted differently compared to a Dyna.

how much fork oil did you drain after? HD specs vs drop in specs?
