Added my cams back in 09 during the winter,
Some dealers have winter sales/specials to keep the wrench's working...
I know labor cost has went up, but not that much,, think it was $70 per hr back then..
they put in my Andrews 26h's, new lifters, new bearing, gaskets and a Free dyno after all the work was done,,
Total cost was $895 plus tax...
I already had the SERT tuner,, did that at the 1K service when I added pipes and SE/AC...

You were always blessed, I remember you when I first come here. Me, I get charged maximum, must be my beard > laffs
Now I have to tell you, I almost told them shove that last year of warranty and tackled it myself but I bit the labor only for another year. It's a new but used bike, so far I'm working all of the kinks out. That previous owner didn't know squat about a scooter, and the reseller, well he was just looking for the dollar. I've got it dialed in to specs, now for the cams

TF----I'll just add that just a decent set of bolt-in cams that match your riding style in a 96'er will make a lot of diff.
I thought about some head work but,,, after I rode it a while after the cam install.. I dont/didn't think I need it..
The engine has plenty of TQ for this 65 yr old.
I've said it many times, NOW I can putt around all day long in 6th gear at 60mph and if I want to pass a cager I don't have to downshift because it pulls as hard in 6th as it used to in 5th gear at 60mph...And it doesn't lug the engine at all because that's still around 2300 RPM's.
the 26h's are good down to 1800 rpm's but that would be below 50mph in 6th and I won't run it that slow in 6th..

I used an indy up in Lutz. Brought all my own parts and they are charging me $500 for the install. Cams, head gasket and rockers. Backed up because everybody was trying to get stuff done for Leesburg. Hope to pick it up next week. Was going to do it myself but have 5 years left on the warranty.
