Headlight and Tail light issues

The next thing will be to check to see if the front brake switch is getting power:
There are three connectors up near the front of the frame, just aft of the steering neck, one is for the left hand control switches, one for right hand control switches, and one for the dashboard electrics.
Find the electrical connector for the right hand switches, you can just follow the wires and you will see where they are going.

There are orange accessory wires all through those connectors, and I`m not sure which one you may be at, so...
Find the connector for the right hand switches, and on the handlebar switch side, find the orange wire, there will be only a single orange wire coming out of this connector, it is the supply to the stop lamp switch, check the voltage.

I think you have narrowed it down to the switch, but don`t condemn the switch yet, because it may just be stuck from years of grease crud bugs etc.
Here`s a link to a video on how to get at that switch (you might just try squirting some WD40 into the switch area and cycle the brake lever a bunch of times without even disassembling anything).
Remember, if you do remove the brake lever to get at the switch to follow the service manual instruction about putting a piece of cardboard over the switch to protect it from the lever as the lever is re installed.
