I hate them!!! Who ever invented them should be strung up! Along with the harley engineer that thought it would be a good ideal to use them!!! OK still don't feel better but got it off my chest anyway!!!

With the right size quality torx tool the screws come out every bit as good or better than Allen. The secret is the proper size.

Straight, phillips, robertson, allen, torx. The fastener industry advances like any other industry. The advantage in this case, in my opinion, (my .02) is the surface area of the fastener vs the tool. That's also the disadvantage. It makes them much too easy to over tighten. Almost all stripped/stubborn torx fasteners were over torqued when installed.

Never had an issue with Torx fasteners. A T25,T27, T40 and T45 will cover about 90% of what you will find

A guy here in my town actually shares the patent with the company he worked for. Originally it was Indiana Metal. They have since been bought out several times over. Back in the day, that was "THE" place to get a job. I'm sure he got a pat on the back, warm glow of victory, and a shiney new dime for his contribution.

The guy has since retired and owns a bagel shop now. Plaque hangs on the wall in the bagel shop.

Quality tools, key! MAC fits perfect. Get a chance spend a lil more and go allen if you're not comfortable with turning wrenches.
