Default Bags on a Deuce

Hi all,

I've looked through many of the threads in the Softail forum but didn't see any on hanging bags on a Deuce.

I have a 2007 and really enjoy my ride to work now!

I've talked with the parts guy at the dealership that put on my floorboards and he looked in his 2007 catalog. The support brackets had a "Z" bend, mounted on the inside of the fender, bends to bring it horizontally around the fender edge, and then down to support the bag.

Does anyone make these brackets anymore? How did you Deuce Baggers get them mounted on?

Here's my Deuce:

Astra

Thanks!

Mine are factory. Here's a few shots of the hardware. I left off but hung the additional pipe support on the garage wall that attached from the back and ran back, turned 90 degrees under the tail light and back and to the other side. The d rings are from the seat and not hanging the bags. There is also another u-plate brace under the fender that that metal plate that the bag attaches to bolts too. That plate limits you to a stock tire for sure. You also need the relocation kit to kick the signal lights back. The original are straight out looking. The relocation ones are angled back. I run OEM pipes off a Custom. Your stock Deuce/Fatboy pipes almost limit you to the OEM style bags. Even mine are close but one of these day, I plan on dropping mine down even under the chrome fender brace. Ebay has a lot of stuff and some OEM ones. Older OEM will probably be wrinkled like mine. I do not take care of them but grunge is me..there leather and I am a slave no on one or thing.

I suggest you contact Boss Bags or LeatherPro Saddlebags. They both have detachables that won't spoil the clean look of your Softail if you decide to ride without the bags. No relocation of taillights on the Softies they show on their websites.

HD has hard bags styled by Willie G. just for the Deuce. Still in the catalog.

Yes they do and there is a spreader bar to keep them from moving in or out. Just under the right rear turn signal you can see the bar between the bag and the the fender support bracket.

with your shotgun style muffs, you bags will be not as deep as most other bags to clear them..
If you change your pipes you'll have a lot better choice of bags to pick from...
