Hey Galaxy,

I am curious... you mentioned that you used Amsoil Super Shift ATF ... where did you it? Primary?

I did not...didn't know about a clutch adjustment...do tell? I also read up on the whole fall out thing for the steering head and seems it's tedious at best with less than stellar results. I did grease up the steering head though, and pumped new grease through until it squeezed out.

Why is that; you just enjoy letting them do it? You do know they CANNOT use it against you that you do your own service, right?

Yup; ATF in the primary. Sorry. Yea, you wouldn't want to put gear oil in the primary!

You're right, but just be sure to keep receipts and log of the mileage etc. , ........just in case.
Also, any filter that meets or exceeds the HD spec is required to maintain warranty, and rather avoid a battle, I'd use the HD filter.

Loose dime to a nickel on your cable at the lever, preference thing. After a nickel adjust the clutch pak.

Here is a link to the HD Service checklists. There are several threads for clutch adjustment on this site and it is also included in the service manual.

http://www.gatewayhd.com/default.asp...ice-checklists

Your service manual also includes a service checklist.

My clutch got adjusted at every service interval on my Street Bob. My Fat Boy Lo has a little bit of a slip in the clutch, but it is due for upgrade and adjustment this weekend during it's first service. SE HD Clutch plate and Variable clutch spring will be installed by the time I am done.

I go by how the clutch feels. It is not hard to adjust the clutch. 1/2 hr and 2 beer.
When I do the clutch adjustment, I adjust the whole thing, because one could adjust the lever easily with the cable adjuster, but I like the clutch tight enough to launch me at a light with no drag or slippage.
For the time it takes and depending how finicky you are, it is worth it.
The directions say to turn the screw out 3/4 of a turn from snug, but I set mine to no more than 1/2 turn.

Truth be told, the HD filter seems to be the best one I have come across so far.
