I am considering as per my other posts upgrading the Deluxe a bit. I currently have the 12" mini apes by Wild 1's. I want to go with more of a retro look (reference 1950s look) and put on a set of bars that are similar to the stock look but are better bars for maneuvering. As I am 6' tall the original stock bars and risers put the grips too close to me giving me a bunched up feeling and were a pain when doing slow maneuvering that required me to move the bars to either lock.

I already ordered a set of Wild 1's W0504 dresser bar but now am also considering HDs narrow beach bar. What I like about HD bars is that they are 1 1/4" all the way across whereas the Wild 1's are 1" in the center and it takes a nice clamp to hide the 'necked down' look.

@ 6'1" you may want to take a peek at Carlini's Freeway bars for that retro look.

Chrome? As in the quality of their products? Excellent, they've been around for years and have quite a clientele.

 

I only ask because it seems the ones I have on now are pitting, even though none of the other HD chrome is: chrome lowers, headlights or other doo dads .

 

I put the Burly Beach bars on my '14 DeLuxe and they have a real retro look and are very comfortable. I went with 1 1/2" risers and it's perfect. The OEM DeLuxe risers are 4.5 inches high PLUS 1 inch pullback.

Thanks I really appreciate your comments. I wanted to do my DeLuxe more in the style of the 50's and what DeLuxe meant back then.
