Default FXSB Breakout – Custom Paint & more Chrome

Hi guys!

Like only two months ago my pal Nostradamus74, I finally managed to get my Breakout project "almost" finished. "Almost" 'cause you all know „never say never“ and actually I already know what comes next although the recent mods session has just been closed

Only yesterday I picked up the bike from the dealership where the latest parts have been installed. This project started quite some time before I even got the bike in March 2014. First mods were planned and parts ordered already before I even ordered the bike . Now, after more than one year the project has come to its first major milestone.

I wish to thank all of you who have been of great inspiration, help and support during the last months. Without all the awesome support and knowledge sharing from/with you guys here on HDF this project would never have come this far. My special thanks to Nostradamus74 for constantly challenging me and my ideas, as well as my wallet, and to Pigbacon for his outstanding support to make this project reality.

Main modification and the real customization is the new paint job a local airbrush guy realized for me. Main aspect for me was to maintain the basic black (and chrome) character of the original bike but to add some color together with something truly individual. Doing some research on the world wide web I found different paint schemes and patterns of which I chose several different examples and gave them to my airbrush guy as a basic idea. After explaining to him what I was after I just let him do his creative work.

Referring to my actual first name that derives from the Norse Mythology and means „Thor's Hammer“ (Mjolnir) I wanted this to be rendered by the paint job, too. The symbol on the rear fender represents Thor's Hammer and is therefore somehow the name tag of the bike...

In addition to the new paint those were the parts installed during the last mods session:
  • CVO Chromed Turbine Rims (and spacers)
  • Turbine sprocket
  • Teardrop rotors
  • Metzeler 260/40-18 Rear Tire
  • Metzeler 120/70-21 Front Tire
  • Diamond Back Throttle Cables
  • Diamond Back Front Brake Lines
  • Chrome ABS Harness Cover and Banjo Bolt Covers
  • Chrome Brake Caliper Inserts
  • Chromed Lower Belt Guard
  • Chromed Front Axle Nut Covers
  • Chrome Braided EFI Fuel Line
  • Chrome Braided Fuel Crossover Line
  • Polyurethane Riser Bushings
  • Chrome Ventilator A/C Cover
  • SE High Flow Oil Pump
  • SE Perfect Fit Pushrods
  • SE 204 Cams
  • SE Inner Cam Bearings
  • SE Heavy Duty Clutch Spring
  • Billet Clutch Cable Adjuster
  • Chrome Front Brake and Clutch Levers
  • Chrome Slotted Shifter Rod B&S
During the next weeks I will try to complete this list with the mods done before and where possible add the part numbers at least for the HD OEM parts used. >> Edit: I managed to complete the list of parts used for the build (w/ P/N). You can find it at the end of this post...

As for now I am still running the canned map. Bike is going to be dynoed as soon as possible.

That is a truly amazing piece of artwork. I love the detail of the paint. It blends well with the bike.there is even some type of marbling in the red and gray paint.

Your bike is amazing Eagle. Congrats.

Very nice looking bike. How did you extend your foot controls? did you use HD parts or after market?
(edit) I see the answer in your signature.

Happy and proud to have been involved in all the project, dude. Following the various phases of your project as you followed mine has been a great pleasure and fun. Our BO have dozens of parts in common but at the same time they're so different. Sharing ideas, trimming our choices, comparing our different approach and studying together has been a great experience and we both know it's not ended yet...if ever will end...
Mjolnir turned out really AWESOME, for sure a true head turner...
A few more details to trim in the future and she'll be done...pardon, "almost done"!
