Have a look around at the different manufactures to see what you like. To fit Hard bags you will need a 2:1 or true duals.

Just a question ?
why does everyone on this forum get a new /different bike, and then start changing bars, and seats, and exhaust ??

Because that's one of the perks about owning such a customizable ride like a Softail. Bars, seats, and exhaust is just the beginning

That's the fun of it. Make it yours and like no one else's. You learn as you go. Welcome to the addiction and empty pockets!
You customize it to fit you and it becomes your work of art!

From my experience, the guys that buy a bike and then never touch it are the ones that have 5 year old bikes with 1500 miles thar have never seen the rain. They buy the bike simply to say they have a harley. I work on cars and bikes to make them perform better, look better and ultimately make it mine. When I buy the bike I don't buy it for what it is, but to make it fit the picture I have in my head.

You will need something like V&H staggered big shots or something along those lines.
The FLH bags will not look right mounting with stock pipes.

Google image "Fat Boy with hard bags" lotsa pics on there with FLH bags

Not sure this applies to your bike. But, hardbags on a Heritage will fit any pipe that is lower than the rear axle.

Here is my bike with Long shots.<br/>

The Signature below is my bike with 2 into 1 exhaust.

I noticed the axle seems to be the perfect line to determine where to stop. Every set of stock bags I've seen seems to stop above the rear axle or even the passenger peg mount line.
