Default First long distance on my deluxe

I left Chicago last Thursday and did 550 miles the first day and 500 the next and ended up in Fort worth Tx. Left Tx yesterday did 600 and 450 today and it was great. The shotgun shock, the gel pro pad in the heritage springer seat, bikini beach bars and the fangs all did their job and made the ride perfect. I did remove the small seat rail pad, it hits me wrong and also pushes me forward. I also used my windshield.

Great looking bike! We share some mods I see. I also didn't like the pad on the seat rail as it pushed me too far forward as well. I picked up this HD seat which allows me to sit further back and is a bit higher which I like.

When I did about 1000 over a weekend my legs started to bother me toward the end, I normally stop every 120-150 miles for fuel but it they were starting to go to sleep on me before that.

Did you have that gel insert put in your seat or did you buy it that way?

I had it installed this spring. A local guy that goes by alligator Bob. He does great work and many custom seats for show bikes. Took the seat to him in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon.

I've heard of him and have seen his excellent work. My friend Smokie on the heritage springer forum has some of his work.

I'm sure...his excellent work doesn't come cheap is what I've heard!

My friend has some outstanding bikes. Nice man too.

By the way did you have any numbness in your legs on these long days? I know people rave about the air hawk, I'm wondering if I should get one for long rides. I could look for a upholstery shop for gel insert too I suppose...

Awesome and dude your ride is sweet! I've done 500 plus mile days on my flstc. No complaints. It's a great ride whether it is a long trip or a ride around the city.
