Sorry guys, I'm building a new house right now and got tied up doing that the past few weeks. I got my inner primary off yesterday after fighting with the stater bolts. I went to put on my belt drive and turns out the shop ordered the wrong kit for my bike. Currently I'm waiting on the new one to come in along with my DLC tubes. Hopefully my parts come in so I can get more work done this weekend. I'm getting anxious to get it one the road again.

Aaahh, at least you have a good excuse for leaving is hanging.

Sucks when your project gets halted because of having the wrong parts ordered or you don't have the right tool to continue with the job. Patience grasshopper.

Let me ask you, did you have to remove your oil tank to get to those pesky starter bolts?

First time I removed my primary 3 years ago I was able to get to those bolts without removing the oil tank by using 1/4 drive extensions on my wrench. Second time I tried to do it there was no way I was getting it done without removing the oil tank first.

I'm asking cause I wanna see if guys have other ways of doing it without removing the oil tank.

Hey Alain you just need the right socket extensions. The swivel extension defintely a helps. Removing the oil tank as you would know is a giant PITA

I feel your pain Steven, that dissapointment of waiting forvever for something that turns out to be wrong

Yeah Alain, like Ink said just need some swivels, extensions and patients to get to the starter bolt. The front bolt was pretty easy the hard one is the rear bolt. I thought I had a good bite on it with my Allen wrench and when I was cranking on it, it slipped and stripped out. I was pretty upset and worried I would have to remove the oil tank because that was the last thing I wanted to do for just one bolt. As weird as it sounds it made it easier though. I then took a Torx bit, a hammer and pounded it into the stripped bolt and it came right out.

Harley told me I should have my belt drive on Friday. So I'm hoping Ill have some new pics for you guys by the weekend if I'm not busy V grinding my floors at my new house

Thanks boys, I'm realizing that I only have one of the required tools to remove the starter without taking the oil tank off.......... I definitely have the swivel extensions. The only thing i seem to always be missing from my tool box is patience !!! Hahahahahahaha

I plan on tackling a swap of my primary covers this winter. Gotta make sure I stock up on patience before I start.

Should be getting the correct belt drive in tomorrow. I've been busy working on the new house, if I I wasn't so cheap I would just pay someone to do it so I have time to finish the train lol I hope to get some progress done this weekend and have an update for you guys.
