As I understand it, you don't get the true effect of an LED bulb unless you change the deflector and lens... do those of you who made the change still consider the plug in LED bulb that much more effective than stock without changing the deflector and lens?
Enquiring minds want to know...

I'm not sure you'd need to with a simple lamp change - both operate from a single point of light in essentially the exact same location within the bucket.

As stated earlier, I used only the drop in bulb. The pattern of the light is wider than with the stock bulb and much brighter. I have been told that the bike is more visable from all angles in daylight as well as after dark. I would buy another...

You can buy from whomever you like. I always cut out the middle man with products from china and this product is no exception. Feel free to pay $70 bucks for a bulb you can get elsewhere for $25. Aint my money....

I installed LED headlamp bulb and the stock light diffuser is still being used. (That cone thingy is still intact in the headlamp.)

The spot welds on the cone on mine let go a while back. Found it rattling around inside the lens during a night time ride. Was wondering if I'd have to get a new one.

Got any pics you could post up of how it looks?

Anybody gotten an error code that DK says may pop up after installing this bulb?

Does the DK bulb generate more or less heat than stock bulb?

Also curious about error code generation.

Less heat, less draw on battery and no code. The small red light on my speedometer stays on but that is not a big deal to me. As stated the led has almost no current draw and as a result the system thinks the stock bulb is blown so the red light stays on.

We've never seen it, but like FLS103 says, we have seen the small red light on a few bikes. The LED draws so little amperage, the canbus system thinks the lights is burn-out.

It generates substantially less heat than the stock bulb.
