Stretched Fender, with a few questions
#22
Keep it low. If you have a table lift with the removable insert the wheel will drop right out of that no problem. I would assume that even on a normal atv style lift as long as it goes up high enough the wheel should come out of there too. And if you scrape the fender being too low it just gives a reason to change the color of the bike in a year or two.

Ok Guys , It has been a few weeks since I last posted the progress on my stretched fender project. I now have all the tins prepped and in primer. I figured if I'm doing bodywork, I might as well do it all at once, and get it over with. I did all the bodywork in my shed in the back yard, I was not making a mess of my garage sanding filler and spraying primer and such.
So here is a few pics of the stretched fender of the previous pics in this thread. As you could see, I went with the lower position of the two choices I was pondering over. I also did not go with the hinge for a few reasons. I still don't know what I'm doing with a tail light on this fender yet. I have the tombstone light, but like the clean look. But that's something else for me to ponder in my mind. I think this fender came out ok, considering its the front half from a heritage, and the back half from a FX .

Nice, I like what you're doing to the scoot. Offer a suggestion if I may, swap those 1" bars out for an 1 1/2. I thnk you'll be impressed with the new beefy look. Threw a photo of the carlini freeways on my Fatboy to give you an idea. Fixin to slap a B&R's 1 1/2" apes on my Deluxe for that same reason. Cheers.

It is nice to get the rear fender finished, and get all the body work done as well. Shovel look...... I miss my old Shovelhead, maybe its rubbing off on this softy.

Its funny you mentioned the bars, as I have been looking at bars lately. Ive been thinking a larger diameter bar aswell. Your right, they do look nice and beefy.

Thanks Fat11Lo
I originally had the fender about a inch lower, but decided that level with the pipes looked better to me, and went with that. I didn't think anyone would notice, well you did.
