Default 2016 Softails: Change is in the air?

I was at my local dealer buying some parts for my new 2015 Heritage when the salesman who sold me my bike states that they were told to sell their remaining Softails because the 2016s will have some changes. He said he didn't know what the changes would be but that it would be a few weeks before the new bikes are released. He thought that it would be a few weeks after Strugis. I jokingly said thanks for telling me that my new bike is obsolete.

Dramatic changes functionally would be great. ie better suspension, increased lean angle, less rake. cruise Esthetically, not so sure.

Softails are classic so I don't care about whatever improvements they make. I haven't been to a Harley dealership to look at bikes for myself in almost 3 years. The only thing they could come out with that would interest me enough to go to my local dealer and check it out would be a Softail Springer with ABS.

If your 2015 is obsolete what does that make my 1995 Heritage Classic?

I heard black will be offered on Softails in 2016 but that has not been confirmed.

Linked brakes. Almost every harley needs better suspension. Led lights should be standard. How about more moco wheel options for softails. Better seats. More color options. No more satin parts on chrome bikes! Isn't that the reason you buy a shiney bike?

I wonder what percent of HD motorcycle sales do Softails account for? It would be interesting to follow this trend for the next few years. It seems like the Touring bike craze may be slowing down. I have had three Touring bikes and I enjoy my new Softail more than any of them.

As long as the black ones are the faster, I'm ok with it.
