Default Deluxe bags on a Heritage

I have a 06 Heritage Classic. I really don't like the large bags or the studs..I have replaced them with black studs which are better but not nearly as nice as basket weave that is on the deluxe. Has anyone else done this? What would I need to make this work? My current setup has the detachable bags and sissy bar with docking hardware...

Cool

I'm not a fan of the large bags either. I don't need all that much room plus they cover up the whole point of a softail - that perfect line right back to the rear axle. I want to see it.
I imagine all you would have to do is get some of the lower support brackets made for these bags and hook 'em on up. Not sure if the measurements for the top holes in the fender supports are the same though.

Worst case you may have to drill a new hole or two. I'd go down to the dealer and get a measurement of where the holes are originally drilled and take it from there. Good luck and I like your taste in bags.

If memory serves, the saddlebag mounting holes are different on the Deluxe vs the Heritage. It may be as simple as Sleeko mentioned. But I think that will be your issue. In fact, you may even be able to just bolt some Deluxe struts right on, and start drilling from there. Maybe more people will chime in. That being said, LOOSING storage space would be the LAST thing I would ever do to a motorcycle. Its way to precious and way to valuable to ever even consider installing smaller saddlebags.

Well we never really ever fill the bags as most of our trips are just local...

Default Saddlebags

What would you take for the bags if you get new ones? Thanks in advance.

My '09 Deluxe saddlebags fit right in my '05 Heritage. I have the quick disconnect setup on both bikes and can move the Deluxe saddlebags between the two bikes. I sold the baggy, saggy, studded Heritage bags long ago. Ron
