I've been researching fairings for awhile now, the best price/value seems to be Reckless and Woodys. Based on forum feedback, however, Woodys seems to have Reckless beat in terms of quality and especially customer service. I believe that when i place my order it will be for a Woodys fairing, I've yet to read a complaint about him.

Woodys is a good looking fairing however you don't have a radio option and at around $850 just for a fairing, the price is steep.

That being said, it is a good looking fairing if you can swallow the price and either don't want music or have some other option.

I believe that Woody offers a stereo option, I could be wrong.

When you factor in all the feedback Woody might be more expensive, but may still be the better value. Then again many have Reckless and are very happy, ya might want to talk to them both and see which sounds better. And then there are these guys:

Not sure where you are getting no radio
option.http://www.woodysfairings.com/fairingsetc/HDFRK2S.html
I am running a Sony marine in mine with 4 Polk speakers.

Well I stewed on it and it looks like Reckless is the way I'm going.

I've decided to go with the Infinity bluetooth head unit with handlebar controls.
What I'm not sure of is if I should get two 6 1/2", two 6X9" or four 5 1/2" speakers, silver or black speaker covers and whether or not to get the $265 Stage 1 amplifier.

I'm leaning toward four 5 1/2" speakers, black covers and no amplifier.
I figure I can always add an amp later if needed.

Now looking for opinions on the above.

If you enjoy clear music at highway speeds get the amp. The Bluetooth Infinity works great but and amp makes the whole package fantastic.

I got the 4 5.25" speakers because I liked the looks better. I had read that the 5.25" speakers do not have the bass that the bigger speakers put out but I got them anyway. They sound really good to me. I did pull the outer fairing off and put polyfil backing around the rear of each speaker.

I am thoughroughly pleased with the quality of sound my stereo emits. Again I would say to go ahead and get the amp now, you won't be sorry.

After long hard thinking I placed my order with Reckless motorcycles this morning.
I'm still not 100% sure that a fairing is the way to go, but since the money used was "found funds" I figure I'm not risking too much here.

I'm traveling near Maryville TN. in a couple of weeks so I'll be picking up the fairing which will save me $75.

I decided not to get the Rockford amp for $285.
Based on the recommendations from the audio forum I'm going to add the Cerwin B4 which runs around $120 so I figure I'll have $150 in that setup which along with a fairing leaves me $40 left of the $1200 for beer money.

Once I get the fairing I'll post a review.

Here's what I'm getting:
Reckless Fairing--------------$750
Windshield trim---------------$50
8" clear windshield------------N/C
Power Outlet-----------------N/C
USB/AUX input----------------N/C
Head unit-Infinity INFPRV250--$30 upgrade
Speakers- four 5.25 Polk------$90 upgrade
Black speaker covers----------$15 upgrade
Handlebar control-------------$75
Total charge------------------$1010.00
