I had a 20" Klock Werks shield on and I'd say the 8" reckless is about 1.5" less in height.

I've since replaced the Reckless shield with a 10" LRS light tint shield.
The LRS shield is about 1/2" lower than the 8" Reckless shield was so I'd have to say that the 8" Reckless shield is really equal to an OEM 10.5" shield.

I'm currently in Orlando until late tomorrow but when I get home I'll measure what the height from the headlight to the top and post the measurement.

BTW- I really like the LRS recurve shield and doubt the Reckless shield will ever be re-installed.
In other words, I wouldn't worry too much about the Reckless shield.
I'd go ahead and just figure on ordering a LRS shield when they go on sale. I got mine for $53 shipped.

Using a level; with the 10" LRS shield it's 17.75" from the headlight to the top of the shield.
If I recall the 8" Reckless shield is about 1/2" taller.

Update on 5/24/16-- Still liking the fairing. The 10" LRS shield was too tall so I ordered an 8" which seems right.

Bluraven, thanks for this thread. This is exactly what I'm looking for!
Would it be possible to message you to ask about your Progressive Suspension and Tour Pak?
thanks,
Steve

Sure, I did a review of the Progressive 422 RAPs a couple of years ago when I got them.
If you haven't read through it you might get some info from that.
