Default License plate bracket low budget alternative

The license plate lamp and plastic plate frame ( to my eyes ) is an afterthought by the MoCo.
First day I had the bike the reflector was removed. Ugh, so pleased it was gone.

I had a pair of threaded LEDs and made an alloy hanging bracket attaching it to the inner fender strut, where there are a pair of unused holes.
Carefully bent the alloy bracket, license plate and the frame to match the curve of the fender and mounted it as close as I dared.
A simple improvement with an outlay of $2 for the LEDs.
Might move the LEDS to replace the top bolts, maybe.

For anyone interested, the simplest approach is removing the fender strut at the forward mount ( 4 x T45 screws), after releasing the EMC and the associated plugs for the rear lamp assemblies.

Hey goblue90, how did the covering on your fangs hold up in the wind during your test ride? I just bought some fangs for my all black slim S and also will wait a while before getting them powder coated.

They held up great. I've had some parts on my f150 wrapped for almost a year and they still look like I just wrapped them!

It's a vinyl film that applies like wallpaper. Very thin and SPF resistant. Search for auto vinyl wrap on Google. People wrap entire cars with the stuff. Custom applications can even have graphics.

Thanks for your picture too paullavery. I like this set up. The pillion looks lower than the HD Pillion and Wider too. The HD pillion is only 6 inches wide.

Thank you for the info SLV! I'll give that a go. Would love to go temp black until I do get it powder coated. Had thought about plastidip but figured it wouldn't withstand the abuse.

Some here know I'm going with a Brass and Black theme on my S. Here's my latest little small modification today.

Not much but it's the little accents...
