When I had air cleaner and pipes fitted to my fatboy, and the dealer download, the mpg was terrible, and not too different from your numbers.

I then smart-tuned the bike (FP3 has a similar feature; earlier fuelpaks are junk). This improved the mpg massively, to better than stock. I then continued fiddling to improve performance at high throttle or high rpm settings. I got massive performance improvements and the better mpg to match. And it doesn't matter how heavy I get with the throttle, I still get great mpg.

If you've got one of the earlier FuelPaks, then you've been robbed. Get the FP3, or a TTS or a DynoJet PowerVision. (I have the SEPST but don't recommend it -- the others I mention will do just as good a job but much more user friendly.)

That would tend to be a little suspicious, right there.

Yup, I didn't believe you could have more power AND more mpg, but I got both. Believe what you want to believe, Warp Factor. It makes no difference to me.

OK. What I'll believe is that if you're not getting substantially worse mileage when you get heavy on the throttle, then you haven't spent much time heavy on the throttle.

No kidding. With that mpg, you must ride from gas station to gas station.

Maybe something is wrong and something is reading in meters? Either that or somebody swapped out the speedometer drive or speedometer and it is causing your odometer to read half of what it should.

How about a fuel look leak?

No leaks. The hop I got the bike from is not at the top of my list of good shops. I need to have the set up looked at. I think the previous owner put on the Python 2 into 1 pipe and didn't have the bike tuned to work with it. Plus the python is wide open. No Baffle.

I haven't messed with fuel injected bikes, but that still sounds crazy.

If it would be dumping that much fuel, it seems like it would run bad or have a gas smell in the exhaust.

How many miles do you get out of a tank of gas?

If one can go 200mi non stop before the low range warning comes on, you're doing great. 175mi and you're doin good
160mi is ok
150mi something needs attention. Bad tune?
