I have to ask... why the XR caliper? Mine came with the four piston caliper similar to the XR unit.

Please, more photos on the coil relocate!!! That looks like something I would love to do as well.

I also have the fans... took them from the RK CVO and will be installing on this bike

Yeah that looks ALOT better than what my '13 FLS came with stock - which is
why I switched it out for the 4-piston XR caliper & EBC contour floating rotors
(front & rear). I also want it to look different - the XR caliper has the
Bar & Shield cast into it & just looks better IMHO.

To clairify, I think the XR looks better than what I had for stock. Looks like
the FLS-S has a nice caliper & rotor on it stock.

Here's a pic of the XR caliper installed.

Correct. Same one I installed on my 48. Not only does it looks better, in the Sportster, it improved braking feel and performance significantly.

I did keep that caliper when I traded the bike... but the Slim S, having a four piston setup, I see no reason to swap it. But yeah... love the looks of the XR caliper.

So looking at your parts list that you say you purchased with the bike, did
the dealer have to order all of them? Is the dealer installing them? or
are you? Just wondering which Daymaker headlight you got. I have
the "older" style. Not sure I want to fork over the bucks for the new style
though...

thanks,

T.

I had the first generation Daymaker in my Dyna and was impressed with the brightness, but the beam was narrow. It didn't really bother me much. . HD introduced the newer version a few months later,. I didn't spend another $400 either. The newer version does address the narrow beam issue though. It really is a very bright light with a good wide pattern.

The $400 almost left my hands with the new bike, but I thought I would risk $60 on a 3500 lumen plug-in LED bulb replacement. It turned out to be a good risk. Super bright. The pattern is a little weird, but not narrow or otherwise annoying.

With all my bikes, I show up at the dealer with a spreadsheet that has the description of the bike that I want and a list of all the parts I want to get with it. I even include the part number, price, and extended price with 10% discount on the bike and 20% discount on the parts. All nicely added so it is easy for them to check the math... I send this spreadsheet to three dealers and let them fight for my business. It has worked well for me so far.

Not everything was in stock...but most will be here by tomorrow. The only two items that will take a long time is the luggage rack and the side bag. They told me to expect a wait of approximately 3 weeks on those.

And yes, part of the fun is doing the install myself.

On the headlight...I am sold on them...great light pattern and very white-bright.

Plus the front turn signals with the LEDs will match perfectly

Wow, never thought of doing it that way. Sounds like it works for you.

So it appears you're getting the new style daymaker then.
I have CustomDynamics LED turnsignals front/rear with AutoGem smoke glass lens.
Seems to make the turnsignals blend in and not stand out....

Cant wait to see some pics of the new daymaker & all the other stuff when you get it.
Gonna be a busy weekend!
