2016 breakout...time to mod
Hey all. I'm new to the forums (well a couple weeks ago). I introduced myself in the newbie section. But figured I would say hi to my fellow softail riders. I ride a 2016 charcoal denim breakout. I've been riding as much as I can since I bought it two weeks ago and loving every minute of it. But now it's time to start modding it into my own. I already got a license plate bracket (radius) to mount to my axle. Just ordered a "reaper" solo bag and hard mount bracket from dead creek cycles last night. Gotta have somewhere to stash a few things. Now I'm onto the stage 1 upgrades. I have made up my mind of what I want. Getting the DK Customs 636v air cleaner with the premium discrete breather kit. I got freedom performance amendment slash out pipes in black picked out also. I've made up my mind to go with the power vision from fuel moto for my tuner because all the great things I've read about them on here. My question is and I hope it's not dumb. But what is the difference between the PV1 and the PV2? Which one would I need for my bike? And also, I don't have to wait until the 1000 mile service to perform the stage 1 upgrades do I? I'm itching to get it all here and installed. I can't stand the severely quiet and choked exhaust. Here's a few pics of what it looks like the day I brought it home. Except I have already removed all the reflectors.

PV1 is for the older bikes, PV2 is for the newer Canbus bikes. Actually they are the same device, they just come with either a 4 pin cable (for older EFI bikes) and a 6 pin cable (for the newer Canbus bikes). Call Fuel Moto to order the PV2, give them the add on parts you are going to use and they will pre-program a tune for you.
If you want the extra Auto Tuner, make sure your pipes have 18nmm bungs. If not, you will have to have to bungs welded onto your new pipes.

Good looking bike. I'm glad you went with slip-ons. The staggered duals in the Breakout look really good in my opinion. Something about the way they slope farther back than other models.
Like the previous posters wrote, no need to wait for the stage one. I had my '13 Street Bob kitted for stage 2 before it left the dealer. It ran like a top for me at almost 20,000 miles of ownership, and it still runs great 10k later for the second owner. I actually think it's better for the bike to breath properly from the beginning.

Nice ride and great choice IMHO. Your new home :

Mirrors are a common early mod when you get tired of peeking around your elbows. That barn lamp headlight will need swapping out too IMHO. The "Daymaker" is your friend. Your New Home will keep you busy for awhile. The BO is a very customizable model.
Oh, at about 5000 mi you can swap out that skinny rear tire for a Dunlop 250 .
