Default American Bike - Metric Bolts? WTF

Man..... I thought if anything would have stayed true to American heritage it would have been A Harley! lol

My tool collection is about to grow substantially with this bike and this is only taking the front fork assembly apart. I don't understand why automakers mix up metric with Imperial and I also don't understand why HD adds to the problem by mixing 12 point bolts with 6 point bolts...... pain in the a$$.

20 years of working on my own crap and this is the first time I've had a need to get a 12 point set of sockets because my damn wrenches won't fit on the front brake caliper bolts (due to tight fit).

I just wish I would have known when I went to town earlier this morning to pick up the long allen-key sockets.

Harley Davidson has been using Japanese forks since the early `70s, apparently you didn`t get the memo...

..they're metric too... you'll need a long 6mm for that lower damper bolt...

I had read about this..... that's why I originally went to town this morning. I have allen sockets but not the long suckers. I'm hoping what I bought will be long enough.

You do live in Canada, correct. They are on the Metric System last time I was there. Just an observation.
