You might think about stiffening the bags instead of replacing them, unless they are all torn up.

There's a company that sells panels you insert into the bags to bring them back to life.

On the rack, getting ready for disassembly. The fuel tank is full. I'm not sure why the mechanics at Harley, didn't drain it first, but, I'm getting ready to. Any time I've had to work on a bike, that requires tank removal, it's is stressed, to remove seat, unhook battery, and drain tank. It seems as though, there are other issues, as well. I'll document them in another post, soon. For now, I'm taking bags and windshield off, while the tank drains.

I'm going to make your day.

Take two needle nose vice grips and pinch the crossover line about 1" from each end. Then cut the line in the center.

Take tank off and drain each side separately into a can. No muss, no fuss, no spills.

No bags, windshield, and the tank is drained. Now, going to remove the tank, then it's on to the motor.

Somebody must have changed them when they put in the Andrews 26A cams. I like those cams, 226/230 duration. With that 2 into 1 I bet the bike ran well with a carb.
