New-ish 2015 Deluxe CVO Do it or Don't
#51
We came across a great deal on a leftover '14 cvo. The more we stared at it, the less we liked it ! No tank console and no tombstone tail light killed it for us. We were kinda told that they were poor sellers, that's why there deeply discounted. That was 8 months ago. It's still sitting there..... no takers. So resale, I would doubt it being a good choice in the long run. Go Deluxe and build what you want.

Ok fellas, I've decided on the stock deluxe. Just a matter of price.
Now, this bike has ABS, I've never owned a bike with ABS. Will it effect what size wheels I can run on the bike? I can't decide if I wanna go 21/16 like I did with my first deluxe or 21/18 like I did with my last 2 bikes.
What are some of the downfalls to having ABS while customizing?

I went with 21/16 RideWrights on my 15 Deluxe with ABS. Everything will work fine as long the wheel manufacturer sends you the right parts. My issues with the ABS were well documented on here. Long story short. First they sent the wrong bearings (non-abs) with the first set of wheels. Then we discovered a defect in the front wheel so they sent me a new one again with the wrong bearing. Then after getting the right bearing and install my abs light wouldn't turn off. After 3 weeks at the dealer and them scratching their heads a tech was fooling around and discovered the problem. Apparently there is a "spacer" when in reality its more like a shim that goes on the outside of the bearing. Turns out this spacer was about 1/16 in diameter to small and it was screwing up the reading for the ABS sensor. RW sent the correct ones and now it works fine. So yeah you shouldn't have any problems assuming you get everything you order LOL!!

I had a 2010 Heritage that I kept spending money to upgrade but did not get it where i wanted to. The reason was because I ended up buying a 2011 CVO Softail Convertible. It is chromed out, you can do that on any bike, 110 engine, you can upgrade yours, paint that you won't see on many bikes, you can do that also. Here is what the final decision for me was that I have a better chance to get a bigger portion of my money back on the CVO.
