Freedom Performance Outlaw High 2 into 1 quiet Baffle problem
Hi,
You may have read in another thread of my tales of woe on quality issues I've suffered with Freedom recently.
Zodiac (European distributor for Freedom products) exchanged the damaged heat shields and end-cap and all was well... well at least I thought so!
The optional Quiet Baffle doesn't fit - unbelievable
I tried all sorts of trick manoeuvres to try and engage the baffle onto the pipe inside the Megaphone.
Reinstalling the original baffle takes merely seconds, it engages straight away, sliding straight over the pipe inside the Megaphone.
Measuring the the ID of both baffles revealed that the Quiet baffle is smaller (2 3/8") compared to the standard baffle (2 1/2"), it's never going to fit!
Zodiac tried fitting another Quiet baffle to a stock system back at their warehouse - guess what, that don't fit either!
Now waiting on Zodiac to communicate the problem to Freedom Performance.
Anyone your side of the pond have this kind of issue?
Cheers
Gary

Zodiac have suggested this as a possible solution but I'd sooner wait for them to source the correct baffle from Freedom.

Update today on Freedom Exhaust quiet baffle fitment
Freedom have messed up and manufactured their quiet baffle to the wrong dimension.
All of the Freedom stock at the Zodiac warehouse in Europe is of the wrong size and won't fit
I'm going to have to wait weeks if not more whilst they make the correct baffle and ship to Europe and then the Uk.
Not impressed with Freedom Performance

Finally received a quiet baffle that fits.
Does the job and I'm sure it'll get the bike through the MOT.
I did notice an acrid burning smell which turned out to be the plastic tape melting around the baffle matting.
Replaced the plastic tape on both baffles with 1mm stainless wire - the type used for fishing lures and florists.
Picture shows the quiet baffle withe stainless wire and standard baffle with plastic tape.
