Rear fendertip light

I converted my fender tip lamps to LED a while back. I have the Custom Dynamics LED fender tip lamp only (not run/brake). They didn't have the one you specified at that time.
It works fine but in the past I noticed that it wouldn't be lit when I would start the bike or it was intermittent. It wasn't making good contact with the socket. I adjusted the socket a couple of times but it didn't resolve the issue. Finally, I added a thin layer of solder to each contact on the light itself and now it is tight in the socket and stays on.

Put both front and rear - with brake light option - on last weekend. They both had big globs of solder on the contacts and wouldn't go into the socket. Got the soldering iron and the solder sucker after 'em. After I melted off the globs, took a jewel file and cleaned the contacts up a bit. Slipped right into the socket. also put a couple pieces of double-sided foam tape on the back of the circuit board and stuck it to reflector to keep the circuit board from vibrating out of the socket. The one in front is really bright. The rear one is a bit brighter than the tail light but the brake function is a lot brighter than the regular brake light. I also have the conversion unit that converts the turn signals into tail-turn-brake lights with red/blue-dot lenses in them. Lights it up quite nicely. Like it!
