Default Foot Gear Shifter

I have a 2015 Deluxe and sometimes when shifting out of 1st to 2nd my lever seems to move down or slip down and I cant get my foot under it to shift up. I have to use my heel shifter. This happens sometimes but not all the time. Is there something loose in my shifter?
Thanks!

you are supposed to use your heel shifter.

Adjust the position of the forward shifter so its higher, that way you will always be able to get your toe under it if you choose not to use the heel shifter.

What he said. If the lever itself is somewhat loose you will also correct that issue.

While you're adjusting the position of the toe shifter, you should remove the heel shifter. Sucks when your pants leg gets caught on it, don't ask how I know...

I pulled the heel shifter off my bike. Needed the extra room on the floorboards. I also had to move the toe shifter to clear my boots. Easy to do.

I put an extended heel shifter on and I am now good to go.

Didn't like the heel shifter either.

Yep, same here......took off heel shifter. Only difference is I put on a chrome spacer to move the toe shifter out about 3/4 inch. Now, don't have to curl ankle inwards to shift.
