Default Batwing Fairings for Heritage

I'm interested in a batwing fairing for my Heritage. There's a tremendous number of offerings out there and they run the prices from $300 to > $2000! Some have stereos, some have other offerings in audio. Please help me by providing your inputs/results! Questions:

What brand do you have?
How easily does it install to the bike?
How easily does the audio plug into your bike?
How do you like the fairing?
How do you like the audio?
Is the fairing plastic or fiberglass?
How do you rate the quality of the fairing?

Any problems you'd have with the fairing or the vendor?

Thanks everyone!!! Rollon

I had the same question last year.

What brand do you have? Reckless
How easily does it install to the bike? Took about an hour
How easily does the audio plug into your bike? Bluetooth
How do you like the fairing? Like very much
How do you like the audio? Rocks at 80 mph.
Is the fairing plastic or fiberglass? fiberglass gelcoat
How do you rate the quality of the fairing? 7 out of 10

Any problems you'd have with the fairing or the vendor? Last week one of the Polk speakers went out. Called Polk and a new one is on it's way.

I've since added a LRS 8" Recurve light tint shield.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...uld-i-buy.html

Here's what I got:
Reckless Fairing--------------$750
Windshield trim---------------$50
8" clear windshield------------N/C
Power Outlet-----------------N/C
USB/AUX input----------------N/C
Head unit-Infinity INFPRV250--$30 upgrade
Rockford PBR300X4 amp------ $275
four 5.25 Polk-----------------$90 upgrade
Black speaker covers----------$15 upgrade
Handlebar control-------------$75
Total charge------------------$1285

It's an awful lot of money and I guess it's worth it if that's what you're after.
As my original thread stated I was first after something to keep my hands warm in the winter then had $1200 drop in my lap and it morphed from there.

Reckless on my Deluxe, has friends buy them after seeing mine. Good quality and fair pricing and American made!

Bluraven- thanks so much for the input and the link to your previous exploration on the issue; you did a super job! I tried to zoom on the pic of the inside of your fairing but was not able to do so. Have you posted other pics of the dash of your fairing? I'd like to see the layout of that.

Thanks again! Fantastic job!!

I too have a Reckless fairing. I like it alot. I replaced the windshield with a LRS shield which makes it even better.

Here's a youtube video that helped sale me.

My setup is the same except I'm all black.

You should hear it cranked with Rush's 2112 "Overture".
If you heard it going 80 mph down the highway playing that song you'd write the check.
