Finally got around to doing the garage door opener mod on my deuce. Here are pics. Thanks to this forum for the idea!
Momentary switch(odo reset switch) soldiered to opener circuit board:

Switch wires in "notches" coming out of opener remote:

Remote tucked under speedometer:

Garage door switch next to odo switch:



For those who haven't seen the other threads on this all you need is:

Extra garage door remote

Odometer reset switch to match the one on the bike ($10)
Rubber boot on switch($2)

***** to drill thru your chrome (actually wasn't bad)

The console was actually easy drilling aluminum. Drilled a small pilot hole first then the bigger one

 

Thanks for info & pics, I may just try to do mine. Like you said, I need to rouster up the ***** to drill my console.
