Default FP3 Questions

OK I will be the first to admit I know NOTHING about the FP3 but see a lot of people talking about it. I have a few questions about it though:

1) How often do you use it?

2) If/when I get new pipes can I reprogram it myself or let the dealership do it and dyno it? I am looking at getting D&D pipes, not Vance and Hines

3) It is currently $309 on ebay, is it worth the investment? Not a hardcore or long distance rider

1. It stays on the bike plugged in

2. yup you can do it. Reprogram via bluetooth with your phone. Takes about 60 seconds.

3. Yes, it's worth the investment

It doesn't have to, it only needs to be plugged in when flashing a map, running AutoTune or any other manual changes - in fact why would you?

So you can view real time data, whenever you want.... I leave mine on both bikes.

Any time you change exhaust or make any changes (edit) the current map, you'll need to re-flash.

so I am thinking my exhaust is my last engine related change it might now be worth spending $300 plus for a 1 time use

If you change just the exhaust you'll be ok, but if you change exhaust, and change to, or it has a high flow air cleaner, (FP3 assumes you have one) then your gonna need a tuner, don't get a dealer download, they are worthless. The FP3 is a great way to go, even if you only use it for the initial tune, the bike will run better/cooler...worth the $$$$

Its very user friendly, improves performance of the bike, less engine heat as a rule, and can change with and as equipment (ie. cams) does. Not worth $300. for one time use? Baloney, just do it, you're way over or maybe, under, thinking this! It's like saying I'm not gonna paint it 'cause I'm only gonna do it once?

Just my opinion, but for $150 more you can get a PowerVision tuner...

I believe it does so much more and it will be the last tuner you'll ever need to buy for a Harley...... (you can add new bikes for $199)

And if you get it from FuelMoto, you will have lifetime map support from both FuelMoto and DynoJet....

FWIW....
