Default raked trees and raked neck cups

I have been doing some research on raked trees for my softail. as we all know raked trees reduce trail and that's the reason you cant or at least SHOULDNT just throw them on a stock frame to achieve the chopper look. i found a lot of talk about raked fork cups with which i have no experience. however in my reading it seems that you could use raked neck cups to add rake to the neck lengthening trail and then raked trees to add more rake and bring the trail back to stock. between 3 degree neck cups and 3 to 6 degree trees ( depending on what it takes to correct the trail) you have a minimum of 6 degrees of rake and spot on stock trail. the neck cups seem to have a decent reputation. all the negative things i have read all seem to be related to improper install.
