This style works just fine. I've had mine on for thousands of miles and several states. For a short while I had extended bags on and I drug them in the mountains riding so I went back to regular bags but even with hitting the bags on the ground there were never any tweaks or issues with the bag mounts. Only problem is when changing the rear tire the axle is a bit of a pain in the *** to get in/out but still very doable as I've done it 15 times with the mounts on there.

Same Softail kit I used, but were less than 40 bucks! My Harley looka like hard bags, old style, were less than 190 bucks and locks were about 25. The narrow Harley Bullet Turn signals were less than 185. I believe with shipping and tax I have about $530, including 40 for a hi-temp heat shield under the rt. bag. Love them!
