^^^ True dat...

Went from an '02 with an 88 cubic inch, to an '05 with the 95 cu in, to my current FB with the 103 HO...

Each newer bike was faster... You will notice the torque difference. I like the bigger rear tire, too.

You will need a new seat as the frame and mounting points for the seat changed in '07.

Cheers/B

I never owned an 88' or 96' bike. But, I rode a bud's 88" Heritage a lot.

I do, however, own a '14 Slim with the regular 103".

Night and day, really. The 103 is so much smoother, so much quicker and feels so much better at the highway speeds.

As pointed out above, '04 is a side mount seat. Another food for thought would be: from what I've read about the '16-17 models, aftermarket seats are not available yet, something about the ECU is larger than the preceding years. Read the post below.

As of right now, the issue is on the standard tire bikes (Deluxe, Heritage etc.) The Fatboy with the 200 rear tire doesn't seem to have this problem, or at least Mustang has seats out to fit the 2016 bikes already.

I have an 02 Heritage Springer (88cu), have had a Heritage with a 103cu and now have a Fat Boy S with 110cu. There's a massive difference from 88 to 103 and even more with a 110.

Don't know about Mustang but Ultimate make seats for the Fat Boy 2016. I don't think there's a change from Fat Boys with the 103 engine anyway with regard to seats.
