As for guards I'm going to try 00-06 softail

Same situation here. I also got the SEPST tuner and the bike is dyno'ed to what I guess is the best it can get.

What's the "sim 1A from Dakota" you wanna use for speedo calib.?

Edit: Question answered! Found the item description here

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...11/prd1011.htm

But on the bottom it says:

"2007 and later Harley models require hardwiring into stock harness, speed correction can be made up to Harley's factory margin of error, typically 3-5% f actual speed reading. If correction is made beyond this, it may result in the loss of the 6th gear indicator light and cruise control."

Would be interesting to know what "hardwiring" means in this respect!?

Please keep me/us posted about your progress, I'm very interested in the results.

Hardwire means cut and splice the connections Dakota uses won't match later bikes but the module will work the same

Will do as I do the mod I'll post a thread with pics still gathering parts so probably in month or 2

Instead of soldering the wires after cutting it could be of advantage to use some 3-wire waterproof connectors...

This way it's easy to remove the calibration module again if needed.
